In May, Elie, his wife Delphine, and four children arrived in Salt Lake City from a Kenyan refugee camp. Elie hopes for a better future for his children in Utah as he works hard to achieve his family's dreams.

The affordable housing crisis is one of the greatest barriers for refugees, and the Stable Homes Fund provides emergency housing and rental assistance to support families facing extreme hardship.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Florida stands in strong opposition to the Department of Children and Families’ proposed ruling, “65C-9.004: Standards for Unaccompanied Alien Children Homes and Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Programs,” as issued on February 10th, 2022.

Over the next three months, the IRC in Salt Lake City will take a deep dive describing our efforts to serve refugee families as they resettle in our community, work toward self-sufficiency, and positively integrate as a new neighbor in the Beehive State.

The IRC in Boise launches an appeal to support its immigration and citizenship program. There is a high demand from refugees and immigrants for citizenship support.  People who have held green cards for many years are stepping forward to finish the process.  Families have sometimes before made difficult decisions to protect one family member and not others due to the cost. Now, with the support of IRC's dedicated donors, these families will not have to face these gut wrenching decisions.  Any funds raised in excess of those needed for the immediate needs of the clients will support the IRC in Boise's immigration program, including coordinating large scale citizenship workshops, promoting know your rights workshops and citizenship exam prep classes.

From now until December 31 the IRC in Boise is accepting donations of gently used winter clothing for newly arrived refugee families.

Since early November, the IRC in San Diego has been responding to the needs of asylum seeking families in San Diego who have been released by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention with no resources as they await their asylum hearing.

Reverend Dr. Cheryl Tatham receives a call from the IRC. There is a refugee family arriving in a few weeks and the IRC needs help collecting furniture to set up their apartment. The North Chevy Chase Christian Church springs into action.

Yousef grew up farming in Darfur. After he and his family were resettled in Salt Lake City, they began farming with New Roots, a program of the IRC in Salt Lake City.
