IRC's Food and Farming Program launches "Fun on the Farm" weekly event
The IRC's Food and Farming Program is pleased to present "Fun on the Farm" events every Saturday in North Park. The event series includes culinary farm tours and kids activities on our urban farm and pop-up event space, Pop on 30th, located at 3725 30th Street.
Our community partner, Traveling Stories, will host a weekly Story Tent, where families can read books, enjoy the farm stand and new farm-based learning and crafts just for kids.
"Fun on the Farm" is a part of the Food and Farming Program's MAKE project (Merging Agriculture Kitchens & Employment), a job-training social enterprise project empowering refugee and immigrant youth and women. Event goers can also enjoy produce from IRC's Youth FarmWorks farm stand and delicious meals from the MAKE Garden Cafe with all farm-infused foods and beverages. Proceeds help refugee and immigrant communities gain the skills and knowledge to build stability and success in their lives.
