The digital inclusion program at the IRC in Salt Lake City offers refugees the opportunity to learn how to use technology to their advantage while providing access to the Internet and devices.

Five years ago, the IRC established a gender action plan to create an environment where women are safe and respected. The plan comes from the belief that the IRC must be a gender equitable organization to deliver gender equitable programs in the communities it serves. Within a year of arriving in Salt Lake City, Abdul Bari noticed a need in his school and took action: he started a robotics club focused on inclusion, where 90% of club members come from a refugee or immigrant background.

The International Rescue Committee in San Diego hosted the 12th Annual A Taste of the IRC dinner and welcomed over 300 guests to experience first-hand the what refugees bring to the table – from international cuisine to art from around the world, the event celebrated the culture and contributions of San Diego’s refugees.
