Kezia Ahimina has never been to Burundi, the country her parents fled before she was born. But this fall, she may get a “dream” opportunity to finally visit: as a member of the Burundi National Soccer Team. 

Join the IRC in Boise and the Idaho Black History Museum for the Boise debut of "The Lucky Ones," on Friday, April 13th, at 5:30pm. This poignant photo exhibit featuring refugee arrivals at the Boise airport in the wake of the Trump Administration's executive orders seeking to stem refugee arrivals into the U.S. The event debut will take place at the Idaho Black History Museum, with light refreshments and a brief program of welcome from the IRC in Boise Executive Director Julianne Donnelly Tzul and Idaho Black History Museum Director Phillip Thompson.

In December, IRC in Seattle, King County, and DSHS collaborated to organize a wonderful wrap-up event celebrating an innovative partnership that helped provide temporary housing to hundreds of refugees at the former Silver Cloud Hotel in Redmond.

As part of the International Rescue Committee’s national Refugee Voices initiative, New American Voices in Salt Lake City encourages refugees and other New Americans to learn more about civic engagement, advocacy, and preparing for national events like the Census and the 2020 election.

In partnership with the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association, the IRC Small Business Development Center is proud to present our first International Marketplace, a hub of refugee and immigrant-owned businesses to give you the perfect place to #shopsmall, #shoplocal, and #celebrateimmigrants.
