Hear from the Svieshnikova family about their journey from Ukraine to Utah. Sisters Mira and Olha have begun a cookie business, Heart of Ukraine, through the IRC small business program.

Abbas Altamr and his wife fled war torn Syria and arrived in Jordan in 2010 but they did not know that their greatest journey was just beginning. They remained in Jordan for six years and had three children before it was time to go. Some of their friends had already left Jordan to move to the United States and Abbas was ready for his family to join them.

The IRC in Boise remains grateful to the Boise community for their ongoing support and compassion towards the refugee families affected in the attack at the Wylie St. Station Apartment Complex. Here is an update on the assistance provided.

Our impact: From supporting refugee youth in their next step of their academic careers to continuing to provide life-changing case management support to asylum-seeking families, the IRC in San Diego is pleased to share a brief look into what we have accomplished this Spring.

Leander and Jesús first came to the United States in 2016 as asylum seekers with their family. They have continued to think about Venezuela and wonder how they can help the country that they love so much. Then, it occurred to them: a book to raise funds to feed other children.
