Every dollar you donate to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) creates a powerful ripple effect, changing lives in the face of some of the world’s most daunting challenges. Your generosity enables us to provide life-saving health care in conflict zones and bring hope to those in overcrowded refugee camps.

With your support, our teams are on the frontlines, delivering aid where it’s needed most.

Your impact: Built on a legacy of trust

Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC stands as one of the oldest humanitarian aid organizations in operation. We respond to some of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, including in UkraineSudan and the occupied Palestinian territory.

In 2023 alone, we served 34.5 million clients in countries impacted by crises. Our comprehensive programming includes:

  • 2.8 million clients served through new or improved water systems
  • 10.7 million primary health consultations
  • 1.6 million children and youth enrolled in learning programs
  • $79 million of cash and vouchers distributed directly to our clients

The IRC also delivers a robust variety of services for refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants through our offices in the U.S. and Europe.

Why donors trust us

The IRC consistently receives top ratings from independent charity evaluators, showcasing our dedication to using donor funds responsibly. We proudly hold:

"Sometimes I feel like I can't do much to help in situations like what is happening in Gaza, but donating helps me feel like I can contribute in a meaningful and direct way," Joan, IRC donor, Washington U.S.

Cost-effectiveness at the IRC

Across the humanitarian aid sector, organizations are being asked to do more with less. The IRC has a steadfast history of leading cost-effectiveness throughout the sector. Since 2015, we’ve improved humanitarian aid by making it more efficient at every step.

By choosing to donate to the IRC, you are investing in a proven, trustworthy organization dedicated to making every dollar count. We make sure your donations create real, lasting change for those in need.

“When I took my grandson to the hospital [for severe acute malnutrition] the IRC supported me. He was in such a bad condition but now he is eating better and I am very happy that he has fully recovered,” says Amina, an IRC client and displaced person who lives in Gwoza, Nigeria.

Your donation in action

Each donation to the IRC provides more than just immediate relief—it builds a foundation for long-term recovery, resilience and hope.

Whether it’s a child receiving critical nutrition, a student learning to read, or a displaced family finding comfort in a moment of crisis, your support makes these outcomes possible.

Together, we can continue to bring health, hope, and opportunity to families worldwide. Thank you for standing with the IRC and those we serve.
