SCOPE OF WORK: The Wi-Fi Setup Volunteer will assist the Casework Department with connecting clients to low-cost or free internet in their homes. This will enable our low-income clients to expand their access to resources, education, and employment, setting them up for additional success and better self-sufficiency as they build new lives in RVA!
COMMITMENT:
- Days and times: flexible based upon client and volunteer availability
- Frequency: biweekly or weekly
- Hours: 1-2 hours per shift
LOCATION: Client homes (typically Richmond city or Henrico)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Call client with interpreter to gather information needed to fill out application for Affordable Connectivity Program
- Coordinate with the client an installation date and time
- Go to client house to assist with installation and instruction
- Help clients create any necessary accounts and learn how to contact customer service
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation
- Experience with or comfortable learning to facilitate Wi-Fi installation
- Experience with Affordable Connectivity Program a plus
- Must adhere to IRC professional standards and volunteer policies including those around boundaries, confidentiality, COVID-19, etc.
