SCOPE OF WORK:
The USS program focuses on providing case management services to Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees (UPHs) who fled to the US due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine. The USS volunteer will assist Ukrainian Response Team (URT) with administrative tasks and case management.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
General responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage client files and track necessary services.
- Assist OIRS team with sorting and filing the documents and case files.
- Assist OIRS team with case noting on LollyLaw.
- Assist in performing a series of administrative duties to ensure client casefiles are up to date.
- Support with case management and service delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in one of the following languages is highly desirable: Russian or Ukrainian.
- An interest in international and refugee issues.
- Punctuality, excellent time management skills, and a flexible schedule.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
- Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds.
- Previous multi-cultural experience and demonstrated ability to communicate well with people of varied backgrounds strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
COMMITMENT:
- Volunteers require 3-6+ hours/week, 3-4 months minimum; 120 hours minimum.
- Students and recent graduates seeking internships are welcome to apply. Internships require additional commitments (240 hours over 4 months).
- This is an in-person opportunity, with ideal hours being Mondays/Wednesdays from 9:00am-11:30am.
- IRC is committed to working with student schedules. We will accommodate time off necessary for midterms and school holidays and altering weekly schedules to adapt to changing class schedules.
