Location: IRC in Charlottesville Office
Time Commitment: Minimum 4-month commitment. Minimum of 2 hours every week on Wednesdays- time flexible.
SCOPE OF WORK: The IRC houses a “Resettlement Store” where refugees can place an order for donated items. Volunteers will fulfil orders and then deliver items to clients. This volunteer role involves the delivery of items to clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Attend Volunteer Orientation
•Must undergo and pass a background check. The IRC kindly requests a $35 fee to assist in covering the cost of this requirement
•Assist clients in selecting items and keep detailed records of items received.
•Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Able to work with minimal supervision
•Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
•Ability to stand and work for duration of 2 hour shift
•Ability to lift 30 lbs.
•Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Reliable, responsible, able to complete tasks within required time-frame
•Must be located in Charlottesville, Virginia
