The front desk plays a critical operational role at the IRC in Atlanta and sets the tone and pace for workflow on the front end. The abilities to multitask, work under pressure and treat all clients and staff with respect and dignity are essential, and being bilingual is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Answer phone, send client or community member queries to appropriate teams
- Respond to walk-ins, send client or community member queries to appropriate teams
- Check mail and distribute to appropriate department
- Contact Ops team member for taking any Immigration payments
- Check voicemails for Atlanta, Tallahassee and Miami offices
- Add paper to printers
- Receive donations and packages
Requirements
- Must be patient and comfortable working with refugees and immigrants from diverse backgrounds, many of whom have limited English proficiency.
- Must have in-person availability on at least one day between Monday – Friday
- Background check including driver history required
- Must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Must track and log hours volunteered monthly via our online volunteer dashboard
Minimum Commitment
- 3 - 5 hours per week for 3 months
