Note this is an unpaid position.
Background: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. IRC teams provide health, infrastructure, learning and economic support to people in 50+ countries worldwide. The IRC also provides support to thousands of refugees resettling in 29 U.S. cities each year through initial housing assistance; case management and referral services; job readiness and placement; community and cultural orientation; health and wellness programs; immigration services; and youth programs.
Scope of Work: IRC Seattle regularly raises unrestricted funds that can be used to cover unexpected costs that restricted grants cannot. Think of rent that the office must pay for our building, or internet for examples. Few grants' funding guidelines permit expenditure of things that might tangentially benefit other offices. Unrestricted funding also allows us to take our programs to the next level, like providing a Claymation workshop for youth. A Peer to Peer Fundraiser works directly with our Development Team to raise unrestricted funds from their network. If you are a chef, invite friends over for dinner for a donation to IRC Seattle. Are you a runner? Ask your co-workers to sponsor your upcoming 10k race with a donation to IRC Seattle. The possibilities are infinite: bake sales, movie nights, lemonade stands...You will be provided with a unique link that you can share with your network so that they can donate directly through that link. No need to exchange Venmo, cash, or marbles!
