About the role

Office volunteers are paired with IRC staff to expand the capacity within client services. There are both client facing and administrative volunteering options. Some examples of office support are filing paperwork for immigration legal services, filling out housing applications, data entry, and sorting client mail. If you enjoy working in an office setting with attention to detail, this is a wonderful option for volunteering.

Time commitment

Office assistant shifts occur during IRC's office hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00. Office assistants are asked to commit to at least two, 2-6 hour shifts per month for a six month period, with an option for more frequent engagement.

Skills & qualifications

Office assistants must display an interest in supporting refugees and immigrants on their pathway to self-sufficiency and integration. Office assistants must be proficient in English and able to manage administrative tasks with attention to detail. reliability and strong organizational skills. For client facing roles, experience in a multicultural setting or with English language learners is preferred but not required.
