New Roots Garden and Mobile Food Pantry Volunteer

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Help gardeners with ongoing projects (e.g. planting, cleaning, weeding, watering, harvesting, organizing, etc).
•    Assist families with registration and food selection at the Mobile Food Pantry
•    Deliver food boxes for those who are not able to come to the food pantry location
•    Optional:  Provide transportation to the clients to access gardens or food pantry

REQUIREMENTS: 
•    An interest in food security and nutrition, and some gardening experience.
•    Comfort communicating with those new to English language and from diverse backgrounds
•    Willingness to work outside and to get dirty
•    Bring water, gardening gloves, sun-protection, and dress for the weather. Workdays will be cancelled for inclement weather.

Qualified applicants will be invited to a phone interview, and those selected will attend a virtual orientation and undergo a background check.  We will ask for a donation of $49 to help offset the cost of the background check.
