Job Overview

As part of its strategy S100, the IRC is focused on becoming an outcomes-driven, evidence-based organization with a commitment to data-driven programing. The Data Intern will support the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager. In this role, the Data Intern will work on current and on-going MEL initiatives and support new initiatives to increase Data Quality across IRC Seattle Programs. 

 

Major Responsibilities

Support the assessment of IRC WA current data entry practices 

Support with creating a more efficient data entry system 

Support with data management and cleaning 

Prepare for FY24 IRC WA Annual Stats process: (1) contribute to developing data entry guides and (2) conduct training on data entry in ETO for all programs (Q4) 

Provide support for trainings on data cleaning, as well as quality control, data analysis and visualization 

Other related duties as assigned. 

Learning Outcomes

Learn about Data Management in a nonprofit program management context 

Enhance skills in data entry, data cleaning, and knowledge management 

Develop an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in designing effective Data Quality systems 

 

Internship Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Experience and/or coursework in knowledge/data management required 

Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision 

Excellent, demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel or/ and other data collection and analysis tools 

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

 

Working Environment

The Data Intern will need to supply their own home workspace, computer, internet access, etc.
