Critical support volunteers will be assigned to a team and given orientation, training and supervision by an IRC staff member from the Resettlement team.   

Time Commitment:  3 months; 3-10 hours per week according to the volunteer's schedule.  Shifts can be on-call or regular weekly shifts. Some tasks can be completed evenings and weekends, but most tasks will be during business hours on weekdays.

Location:  Metro Denver area, including Aurora. At the IRC office in Denver and out in the community.

Duties:

     May include but are not limited to:

  • Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments, grocery stores, and to food and clothing banks.  
  • Delivering items to client homes.
  • Calling clients using a language interpretation line to set appointments, conduct intakes, provide information.
  • Assisting with clerical, data entry, office tasks

Background Checks:  All volunteers with the IRC in Denver must undergo a background check for the safety and security of our clients.  We ask for a donation of $49 from each volunteer to help offset the cost of the background check.
