The IRC in Atlanta’s Connect 2 Success (C2S) program is dedicated to supporting out-of-school refugee youth ages 16-24. Clients enrolled in the program receive holistic support through one-on-one coaching and group classes to help them define, plan for and reach their education and career goals. C2S includes career readiness training and support in job seeking, as well as academic support, including assistance with enrolling in GED programs and applying to college.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with completing college applications including placement testing navigation
- Provide feedback on essays and literary comprehension
- Assist clients with GED preparation by reviewing educational fundamentals
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with high school math (trigonometry and calculus) and/or science (chemistry, biology, physics) content a plus
- Background check required
- Must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Must track and log hours volunteered monthly via our online volunteer dashboard
Minimum Commitment:
- 3 months, 2 hours per week
