Job Title: Asylum Seekers Case Management Intern (CMPP)

ABOUT THE JOB: This person will play a vital role in supporting CMPP Crisis Case Manager with both program creation and program implementation, ensuring the smooth operation of program activities. The intern will assist the Crisis Caseworker in managing individual cases for clients experiencing crises such as housing instability, medical needs, or mental health challenges. 
 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:  

  • Intern will gain experience in program design and development, allowing them to understand the process behind creating a new program that responds to a gap identified in the community.
  • Intern will learn about how data is collected, tracked, and reported to donors for government-funded NGO projects.
  • Intern will gain experience in providing direct services to vulnerable populations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in documenting case details and updates throughout the process.
  • Accompanying the caseworker on home visits and client meetings.
  • Communicating fluently in Spanish (or another language they speak) to support client interactions.
  • Assisting with resource allocation and connecting clients to necessary services.
  • This role is ideal for someone interested in social work, case management, or mental health, with a focus on direct client support.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Interest in working with migrants and supporting vulnerable populations
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and competing deadlines at once
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Has reliable transportation and is able to work from the office at least two days a week
  • Ability to find creative and practical solutions to obstacles
  • Ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing procedures and information that is constantly evolving
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter
  • Eager to learn and grow in the non-profit sector
  • Excellent Spanish language ability is an advantage
  • Russian AND/OR Arabic language abilities required.
