Training & resources for working with refugee children in the UK
The IRC’s Healing Spaces training is a trauma informed training designed to support community organisations, charities and others supporting refugee children and youth in the UK.
Healing Spaces is designed for community organisations, charities and others supporting refugee children and youth in the UK. You can either register as an individual for UK-wide sessions or as an organisation for bespoke sessions only for your team.
The IRC also offers training and resources for teachers and schools supporting refugee and asylum-seeking students in the UK. Go to our Healing Classrooms page.
This training is designed to assist community organisations, charities and others supporting refugee children and youth in the UK.
Crisis and conflict have direct and profound effects on one's physical safety, well-being and ability to learn. This training explores the causes, consequences and ways to support refugees (at the individual and organisational level) to cope and overcome trauma and toxic stress and rebuild their lives in the UK. The training also covers practical tips on how to embed community building into activities. There is also an optional session on social-emotional learning (SEL) for organisations interested.
Training is available as bespoke in-person training for organisations, or as online training sessions across the whole of the UK. Find our more about upcomming sessions on the Healing Spaces training page.
The best part of the training was being able to contribute and hear from others working in similar situations. Amazing ideas and advice!
