Netflix’s Transatlantic is based on a historical fiction book that tells the story of Varian Fry and his team’s work evacuating refugees from Vichy France during World War II. The IRC in Silver Spring is supporting vulnerable refugee women by removing barriers to their employment, by offering English instruction, socialization and specialized cultural orientation.

Over six weeks, from June to July, we partnered with over 15 organizations to serve more than 30 students as part of our 2024 Youth Futures Summer Camp. Each week featured exciting field trips, water balloon battles, resume workshops, and college visits.
