IRC president David Miliband recently traveled to Colombia, where he met some of the over 1.5 million Venezuelans who have sought refuge there from violence and economic chaos at home. "This is a real crisis that deserves the world's attention," he says.

Conditions inside Venezuela continue to deteriorate—a million Venezuelans have now sought refuge in Colombia, and this number could double in the next six months. Many are being forced to undertake desperate measures, including sex work, to earn money to survive.
