What is the Rescue Collective? Rescue Collective is a community of donors and action-takers within the International Rescue Committee, who support refugees and displaced families affected by humanitarian crises to regain their safety, health, education, economic wellbeing, and power.

Since 1933, the International Rescue Committee has been providing life-changing services to the world’s most vulnerable. Here’s a look at some of the highlights of our work through the years.

Justus Rosenberg was the youngest member of the team led by Varian Fry that rescued some of Europe's most famous artists, writers, and intellectuals who had taken refuge in France prior to the Nazi invasion of 1940. Fry was sent on his mission by the New York-based Emergency Rescue Committee, which would combine in 1942 with the International Relief Association to form the International Rescue Committee.
