The CARE project will be implemented by four civil society partners from Greece and Italy with expertise in women’s and girls’ empowerment to contribute towards the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) against women and girls, with a focus on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

In crisis, the risk of GBV increases, and so does our collective need to act to prevent GBV before it happens or respond to the needs of women and girls when it does.

Enabling skilled providers to confidentially, efficiently and effectively identify individuals who have experienced gender-based violence is a crucial part of ensuring that survivors receive care that meets their needs and promotes their safety.

For more than 20 years, the IRC has been breaking down barriers that prevent gender-based violence survivors from disclosing violence and seeking services. We continue to work in areas that need it the most, which are characterized by insecurity, displacement and weak health systems.
