Game of Thrones actor and champion for refugees, Lena Headey, recently visited Germany with the International Rescue Committee. On her trip with us, Lena reunited with Marwa, a Syrian mother she met in a refugee settlement in Greece in 2016.  Read HBO's interview with Lena about her trip.

For nearly 40 years the United States resettlement program has been the best in the world, providing safety and opportunity to millions of refugees. But in his first week in office President Donald Trump signed an executive order that threatens to pull back the welcome mat.

Families in the Dallas area, including refugees, are relying on produce IRC New Roots coordinator Isabella Chamberlain harvests from the IRC's New Roots gardens every week. The gardens were created as a way for newly arrived refugees to settle into their new communities, earn an income from what they grow, and enjoy more fresh produce at home. But now Isabella is working alone, for safety.
