We are thrilled to share with you the stories of refugee community members who have been welcomed to a new home in Tallahassee—in their own words, as shared with our elected leaders.

We are going to take a deep dive into the process of refugee resettlement at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Wichita. This month, we’ll focus on the basics of initial resettlement, including the process a refugee must undergo to be considered for resettlement in the U.S. and the days leading up to their arrival through the eyes of IRC staff and volunteers in Wichita.

During the months of July and August, the IRC in Wichita received an outpouring of love from Kansans all over the state. When we welcome refugees, they shape the world for the better. We thank you for being the proof that a connected and welcoming world creates opportunities for us all.
