While progress has been made in bringing diverse development and humanitarian actors together under the leadership of host governments to address the needs of refugees and host communities, more still needs to be done to meet their urgent needs.

In honor of World Refugee Day, artists from local refugee communities share their work and their stories to raise awareness of global refugee issues and to highlight the creative contributions of refugees here in Washington State.

After being reunited with her mother in Dallas in 2013, Rahmo Bare was determined to write her own story. In 2019, she joined the IRC in Dallas as the Dallas Mayor's Intern Fellow.
