In order to meet the World Bank’s updated mission to eliminate extreme poverty on a livable planet, it is essential that the World Bank International Development Association (IDA) is resourced and impactful in conflict-affected Least Developed Countries (LDCs) where extreme poverty and climate impacts are increasingly concentrated.
This briefing provides an overview of the importance of IDA as a source of finance for conflict-affected LDCs, the challenges in disbursing IDA in these countries and the opportunities to improve the delivery of IDA and enhance immediate and long-term impact through a wider range of humanitarian partnerships.
