In response to the devastating 2024 floods in Derna, Libya, the IRC has launched a comprehensive emergency response, including health, mental health, and protection services. Collaborating with the Libyan Ministry of Health, the IRC has deployed mobile medical teams, provided supplies to healthcare facilities, and established outreach programs focusing on psychological first aid and disease prevention. The response has reached over 69,000 people through medical consultations, including mental health consultations, as well as child protection services, and many others, addressing both the immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts in flood-affected communities.
