Today the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is proud to announce the appointment of Mona Sutphen and Eduardo Mestre as the new Co-Chairs of our Board of Directors, succeeding Secretary Timothy Geithner and Sally Susman.

Both Mona and Eduardo hold a deep commitment to the IRC’s mission and bring invaluable experience across the public and private sectors. Mona has been a member of IRC’s Board since 2014 and chaired various committees like the Infrastructure and People & Culture committees. Eduardo has been a board member since 2012 and has served on and chaired a number of committees, including most recently as Chair of the Advisors.

On announcement of the appointments, Mona Sutphen said:

Mona Sutphen is a Senior Partner at The Vistria Group, where she leads thematic investment strategies for the next-generation private equity firm. With a distinguished career that includes serving as White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Mona has extensive experience in advising investors and global corporations on geopolitical and policy risk.

Eduardo Mestre is the Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Investment Banking at Evercore and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Eduardo has a long history of leadership in investment banking, having previously served as Chairman of Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division.
