Lesbos, Greece, April 26, 2016 — In reaction to today's events at Moria on the island of Lesbos, the IRC's Country Director in Greece, Panos Navrozidis, said:
"Events at Moria highlight the level of frustration there. Many of these refugees have been held at Moria for well over a month with inadequate services available to them and very few answers. They deserve much better.
"The EU-Turkey deal puts borders before people, and people are at the heart of this crisis. They must be treated with respect and the resources must be put in place to ensure effective and efficient due process."
