This summer, the IRC in Atlanta’s Youth programs launched a Back 2 School Supply Drive to collect fully stocked backpacks to ensure the refugee families we serve have everything they need as children enroll in their new schools and begin to rebuild their lives.

Thankfully, our generous supporters and members of the wider community rallied quickly to respond to our call for supplies and we are thrilled to announce that we received an incredible 208 complete backpacks and additional school supplies to fill another 40 bags.

Our generous supporters donated 208 backpacks full of supplies!

Our hard-working team is now delivering backpacks to students currently enrolled in our programs as well as providing backpacks to many newly arriving families each week! The IRC in Atlanta expects to welcome 500 school-aged children to Georgia in the upcoming year and your generosity makes a huge difference in the welcome these families receive. It’s not too late to provide a backpack for a newly arriving studentyou can find the packing list here and contact [email protected] if you or your group/company would like to drop off school supplies throughout the year.
