With the season of giving upon us, we all have an opportunity to reflect upon how we can support each other and be a good neighbor. We can like a Facebook post or share an article that increases awareness of issues; some people choose to volunteer their time. For SureGuard Mattress Protectors, generosity took the form of donating products that help to give our clients a comfortable night’s sleep, the first in a long time for many of them.
Logistics Specialist Corey Rheingrover helped coordinate this corporate donation and adds, “This generous donation will ensure hundreds of our clients will enjoy a restful sleep. When you think about it, sleep truly plays a vital role in our well-being, allowing children to grow and learn and giving parents the chance to recharge their batteries, especially when trying to run a household and rebuild their lives in a new country.”
At the IRC donations are the foundation of our organization in many ways. They make sure we are able to provide a wide array of services to our clients as they hope to re-establish themselves in our communities. A donation such as a winter jacket is an essential item for newly arriving clients during the coming colder months. Securing these items helps us to put the money saved back into other essential needs. This year make the choice like SureGuard Mattress Protectors in helping our vulnerable clients get the support they need. Donations come in many forms: volunteering, financial contribution, or donating items and no donation is too small. If you are interested in helping the IRC in Silver Spring this holiday season, we encourage you to contact Mark Youmans ([email protected]) for an updated list of our current greatest needs.
