Education & Training Positions 

Youth Department Internship 

(In-person)

Join us in empowering the youth of our community with IRC San Diego's Youth Department Internship, where you can apply your passion and skills to support the development of students' academic abilities. As a Youth Summer Intern, you will assist department staff with in-class support, academic tutoring, student outreach, program development and implementation, administration, and field trip support. Use data visualization to track program performance and help automate data management processes, enhancing program efficiency. Health Navigation Internship

Support newcomers in navigating the complexities of healthcare in the United States, ensuring their health and well-being. The Health Navigation Program promotes the health of newcomer families and helps clients improve their access to healthcare. In this role, interns will work directly with clients, supporting them in appointments and providing public transit assistance. Additionally, interns will conduct outreach, develop community partnerships, and create materials and presentations. This opportunity offers experience in providing culturally humble services, familiarity in cross-cultural communication, and exposure to health navigation for newly arrived populations. Asylum Seekers and Families Internship

Make a difference in the lives of San Diego’s most vulnerable individuals and families seeking asylum at IRC San Diego. Join the Asylum Seekers and Families Program to support caseworkers in helping asylum-seekers meet their basic needs, including legal representation, safe housing, public benefits enrollment, school enrollment, and much more. Interns will play a crucial role in community engagement and outreach, providing vital case management services to clients. Women's Resilience Center Internship

Empower women and support them in accessing information on their rights, health, safety, and well-being. The Women’s Resilience Center (WRC) is a safe, collaborative space that values and addresses the needs of women and girls. As an intern, you will co-facilitate wellness workshops and presentations, support outreach efforts for WRC programs, and contribute to monitoring and evaluating these programs. Career Programs Internship

Provide integral career development services and help support refugees in establishing their careers in the United States. The Career Programs staff at IRC San Diego works to assist clients interested in earning industry-recognized certifications in fields such as Allied Healthcare, IT, Manufacturing, and more. As an intern, you will support in outreach and enrollment process of the clients, advancing ongoing projects, supporting administrative tasks, and developing guides and resources in multiple professional fields. Champion workforce integration by providing comprehensive employment services for refugees, asylees, and other immigrant communities. The Workforce and Integration Department at IRC San Diego offers clients employment services, career development, and financial education. As an intern, you will work closely with Employment Specialists, supporting them with various administrative and operational tasks. These tasks include assisting clients with formatting resumes, maintaining communications with employers about job openings, preparing documents for applications, and more. Microenterprise Internship

Join IRC San Diego’s Microenterprise Program and have immediate and meaningful impact! During this internship you will play a vital role in directly supporting our clients. As the Microenterprise Program Intern, your responsibilities will consist of helping childcare entrepreneurs enroll into the program, assist walk-in clients, prepare childcare license applications, conduct quality assurance tasks, monitor the childcare program, track outcomes, facilitate training, and participate in outreach events.
