Turlock-area volunteers helped IRC clients gain valuable economic empowerment skills May 19 during the Love Turlock day of community service.
Several Afghan clients who formerly served the U.S. government in their home country came to the IRC in Turlock office to practice job interviews, improve their English skills, and receive cashier's training. Volunteers and staff also helped with child watch during the event, ensuring that female clients also had the opportunity to participate. The project was one of many service events taking place throughout Turlock during the day, ranging from park and alleyway cleanup projects to a major community celebration in Columbia Park.
Here's a look at some of the photos of the event at the IRC in Turlock office that day.
