The IRC in NY was featured on Fox 5 in NYC this summer to highlight the power of the IRC's New Roots Community Farm in the Bronx and New Rotos Community Gardens in Queens. Avigail Ziv, Executive Director, Maria Sigalas, Economic Empowerment Manager, and Sheryll, New Roots Farm Coordinator were featured and interviewed along with IRC client and New Roots Community Farm stalwart, Rose. All have worked to make the New Roots program a welcoming space focused not only on nutritional health, but mental health as well. The multifaceted benefits of green spaces in urban settings are being realized across the city, and the IRC is proud to contribute and grow through the New Roots program.
