Meet Anushka Raje

Anushka grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she later attended Oklahoma State University. She graduated in May of this year with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and International Studies. She was drawn to the mission of the IRC and the scope our involvement around the world.

For the next year, she will be our Volunteer Coordinator, reaching out in the community to advocate and gain support for what we do. She will recruit, train, and monitor our volunteers. To learn more about the volunteer/intern opportunities in IRC Garden City, email [email protected].

Meet Connie Smith

Connie grew up in Kansas and graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She learned about the AmeriCorps VISTA program while student teaching, and since then, she has been hooked. Having served at many other nonprofits in the U.S., she chose to work here to challenge herself and to connect to the diverse populations we serve.

This year, she will be our In-Kind Donations Coordinator, organizing, collecting, and distributing items that our refugees may need during their time resettling here in Garden City. To find out more about what we need and how to donate, contact [email protected].

They focus their efforts to build the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities. About 8,000 VISTAs are placed each year in more than 1,100 projects in low-income communities around the country." Visit www.nationalservice.gov
