Last month, the IRC in Silver Spring spoke on a panel about organizations serving vulnerable groups in Maryland. The panel was hosted by A Wider Circle, a nonprofit who provides household items and job training to individuals and families emerging from homelessness.
IRC development manager Mark Youmans presented alongside the Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA), which supports victims of intimate partner violence, and Stepping Stones Shelter, a local family shelter in Montgomery County. The discussion gave those present the opportunity to connect, collaborate and share resources that benefits the diverse needs of vulnerable groups in Maryland.
A Wider Circle provides professional clothing to refugees resettled by the IRC and volunteer opportunities for refugee high schoolers.
