How you can help refugees in 2024

In 2023, the IRC in Los Angeles helped resettle 578 refugee families, and we anticipate this number to increase in the new year. To continue to give refugees the warm welcome and help they deserve, the IRC in Los Angeles needs your support! Below are several ways in which you can help.

Contribute In-Kind Donations

Welcome Kits are pre-prepared packages sent to our office to help newly arrived refugees settle into their new homes. By sending already completed packages, you help our staff to ensure efficiency in providing refugees the items they need to get started in their new home. We highly recommend it!
You can also contribute by shopping on ourAmazon Wishlist. There, you’ll find the urgently needed items our refugee families need.

Do you have gently used household items you no longer need? Consider donating them! We accept most used items. If you wish to contribute other goods like hygiene items, linens, or furniture, consider learning about our current needs and donate. Learn more about the In-kind items we urgently need and accept here.
Contribute a gift card instead – If you prefer to provide our families the autonomy to shop, you can purchase a gift card (Target, Visa, Amazon, and Walmart are most needed). Email our Volunteer and Donations Specialist Kristie Wong, [email protected] for help.
