Mark your calendars! December 3, 2024, is Giving Tuesday. At the IRC in Virginia, we eagerly look forward to participating in this global movement of generosity. The annual campaign presents an opportunity for individuals worldwide to use the power of giving to make a difference in their local community.

Giving Tuesday is an annual day of charitable giving. Founded in 2012 by the United Nations Foundation in collaboration with New York’s 92nd Street YMCA, it serves as a counter-balance to the post-Thanksgiving focus on consumerism. Giving Tuesday encourages individuals across the globe to prioritize generosity and making giving a central part of our lives. On December 3 this year, hundreds of millions of people worldwide will give, collaborate, and celebrate to support in their communities.

Give today through our donation campaign pages:

The IRC in Virginia is excited to participate in this unified day of giving. The Richmond and Charlottesville offices have each set the goal of raising $2,500 for Giving Tuesday to support our mission to help people survive, recover, and rebuild their lives when they experience conflict or disaster.

Spread the word! Tell your friends and family about our work and how they can support the resettlement of newcomers in our communities. No donation amount is too small!
