While the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments regarding the travel ban, IRC volunteers and staff joined a rally in support of refugees, immigrants, and the Muslim community. Thank you to everyone who made their voices heard and to our partners at Americans for Refugees and Immigrants for organizing the rally.

IRC's senior vice president of U.S. programs, Jennifer Sime, made the following statement on the recent court challenges of the travel ban:

“We are hopeful that the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will find the administration’s harmful order to prevent refugees from seeking protection in America unconstitutional. The U.S. refugee resettlement program, working in partnership with federal agencies and local communities, has a proven track record of saving lives and adding to the vibrancy of our communities. The IRC remains committed to working with the administration, state and local governments, and the diverse community groups and local businesses who partner with us to help refugee families find peace and rebuild their lives in the U.S.”
