Last week, the International Rescue Committee in Denver welcomed their first co-sponsored family in 2024. The family was matched with the Conifer Rotary Refugee Co-sponsor Group, and the IRC in Denver and Co-Sponsor Group couldn't be more thrilled about this milestone for the family, and the potential of co-sponsorships in 2024.

Upon their arrival at the Denver International Airport, the family was greeted by their Co-sponsor Group, along with the IRC's Community Engagement Manager Homayoon Milad who says:

"The family was overwhelmed by the warm and welcoming reception, expressing their gratitude and newfound hope for what lies ahead."

Not having expected such a heartfelt welcome, the family was deeply touched by the kindness and support shown by the co-sponsor group. Their arrival at the airport was a moment filled with joy and anticipation, as they embarked on a new chapter in their lives.

"Experiencing this warm welcome at the airport by the co-sponsor group gave us hope for a brighter future,"

shared one family member.

However, the heartwarming reception is only a first step in the family's integration process into the Denver community, and the Conifer Rotary Refugee Co-sponsor Group, along with IRC in Denver, will be working closely with the family to ensure they have the necessary support and resources to thrive in their new home.

The IRC in Denver is grateful to the Conifer Rotary Refugee Co-sponsor Group for their dedication and commitment in making a difference in the lives of refugees. Their warm embrace of the newcomer family and willingness to help pave their way for a brighter future exemplifies the spirit of community and compassion.

"As we embark on this journey with our co-sponsored family, we invite you all to join us in extending a warm welcome to them. Let's come together as a community to provide the support, encouragement, and opportunities these refugee families need to build a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting impact and create a welcoming environment for all."

urges a member of the group.
