Hundreds of advocates gathered in Olympia to say "refugees & immigrants are welcome here!"
The IRC was honored to join Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network and nearly 250 advocates from across the state in Olympia for the 3rd Annual Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Day!
Participants represented 43 of Washington's 49 state legislative districts. In one whirlwind of an afternoon, we met with the offices of more than 100 lawmakers—that's nearly 2/3 of the legislature!—in support of bills that will protect and advance the rights of refugee and immigrant communities. It was incredible to see so many people working together and standing up to say "refugees & immigrants are welcome here!"
