"Hope and truth are connected. Hope is not naivete. It is bearing witness to truth, still believing in better, and yielding the energy to contribute to better." -Bernice King
If you're feeling scared, lost, or hopeless: seek community.
Together, we will continue the fight to build a better world. Every day we continue to welcome refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants. No matter who occupies the executive office, we’ll always stand with those most vulnerable in our communities, and none of us can do it alone.
If you're looking for a way to soothe your soul and connect with others, consider joining our community of supporters, volunteers, donors, and partners.
- Volunteer at our local office.
- Follow us on Facebook or sign up for our local newsletter.
- Share our work and stories with others to combat hate and xenophobia.
- Attend one of our cultural events throughout the year, such as our upcoming Arabic Calligraphy Workshop.
- Donate any amount that works for you. 100% goes to program delivery.
- Host a house party, game night, or fundraiser for us using our convenient toolkit.
- Sponsor us for the year or for an event as a business or organization.
- Shop our wish list for items that go to newly arrived families.
Locally, the IRC in Seattle has been supporting and advocating for the rights of vulnerable and forcibly displaced people since 1977. We won't stop today, tomorrow, or ever.
