The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax preparation services to individuals and families earning up to $67,000 annually. Certified volunteers assist taxpayers in claiming credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).
VITA services will be available for anyone needing tax help from January 30th through April 15, 2025. Virtual appointments will also be available by appointment only.
Location: Northwest Community Center, 5750 Pineland Road, Dallas, TX 75231.
Walk-In Hours at Northwest Community Center (no appointment necessary):
- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 2 PM - 7 PM
- Fridays: 9 AM - 2 PM
- Saturdays in February: 9 AM - 2 PM
Before visiting, ensure you bring the following necessary documents:
- Government-issued ID
- Social Security number for you, your spouse, and all dependents
- Bank account number information including routing and account numbers
- Tax return from 2023 (if you have them)
- All income and tax documents: W2s, 1099s (1099-K, 1099-SSA, 1099-INT, 1099-R, etc)
- Expense information (college tuition, student loans, childcare, medical/dental bills, charitable donations, self-employment, etc
