Job Readiness Workshop(s)
Number of Volunteers: 8-10
Length of time: 2-4 hours

Description: Employees will introduce adult asylee and refugee clients to the American job market. A few areas of focus can include resume and job interview preparation. Employees will have one-on-one mock interview sessions with IRC clients, giving them the opportunity to improve their job interview skills.
Citizenship or Green Card Application Workshop(s)
Number of Volunteers: 10-12
Length of time: 5-6 hours
Possible dates: Open
Description: After one year in the U.S. refugees are required by law to apply for their green card. Four years later, they are eligible for citizenship. These processes begin by filling out various application forms, which can be a long and confusing task for immigrants without support. Volunteers will help refugee & immigrant clients complete the forms and then preview the citizenship test and interview. This workshop includes a 1-hour overview and training as part of the event.
