The film follows a young refugee woman named Nasro in Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, who views education as her lifeline, yet every day faces formidable challenges in accessing this fundamental right. Nasro’s story and bravery will help illuminate the plight facing millions of refugee girls striving for an education. Written by poet laureate Warsan Shire, and voiced by Tessa Thompson and Golden Globe winner David Oyelowo, this short film is a testament to how hope and love can propel us beyond even the bleakest of circumstances.
We hope you can join us for this celebration and discussion of women and girls’ empowerment.
