"Mothers are the people who rock the baby in one hand and rock the world in the other.” Single mum Zahra loved her job working as a TV anchor in Afghanistan. But in August 2021, everything changed.

With support from the International Rescue Commitee, Zahra and her children are rebuilding their lives and her dreams are as strong as ever. She is determined to work as a journalist in the UK and continues to advocate for women’s rights. Read more about Zahra's story.
