The International Rescue Committee provides vital support to South Sudanese who are struggling to recover from decades of civil war and life-threatening food shortages.
The United States has a long tradition of offering refuge to those fleeing persecution and war. However, the Trump administration, citing unfounded security concerns, put a travel ban in place, suspended the refugee resettlement program for 120 days and slashed refugee arrivals by more than half.
The International Rescue Committee provides critical support to thousands of refugees living in Tanzania as a result of ongoing conflict in neighbouring countries.
The IRC provides support to Syrian refugees struggling to get by in Lebanon and the resource-strapped Lebanese communities hosting them. We also responded to explosion in Beirut, providing support including emergency cash and psychological first aid.
