The International Rescue Committee provides vital health care and protection to vulnerable Libyans, refugees and migrants who have now experienced more than 10 years of protracted crisis and recurring conflict.
The United States has a long tradition of offering refuge to those fleeing persecution and war. However, the Trump administration, citing unfounded security concerns, put a travel ban in place, suspended the refugee resettlement program for 120 days and slashed refugee arrivals by more than half.
The International Rescue Committee is supporting government and local nonprofit agencies in Germany as they assist more than 1 million people fleeing conflict. We're sharing our expertise in education for refugee children and youth, the special protection needs of women fleeing crisis, and ways to prepare refugees to join the workforce and contribute to their new communities.
Nearly 1 million Rohingya have fled violence in Myanmar's Rakhine State to Cox’s Bazar, a district in Bangladesh. The IRC is responding with health care, protection for vulnerable women and children, and emergency support for the refugees.
