Before working with the IRC UK Education team as a senior education officer, Emily worked as the Education Manager for an anti-racism charity called Show Racism the Red Card. Prior to working in the charity sector, Emily was a specialist EAL teacher for Brighton and Hove council and has experience of working in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as a classroom teacher.
Her dedication and passion for helping refugee and asylum-seeking people are shown through volunteer work and was evident in classroom practices. As a specialist teacher, she provided tailored lessons to improve young people’s English language skills. As part of her work with the IRC, she will continue to deliver and help embed the Healing Classrooms approach to educators across the UK.
