The IRC provides support to Syrian refugees struggling to get by in Lebanon and the resource-strapped Lebanese communities hosting them. We also responded to the 2020 explosion in Beirut, providing support including emergency cash and psychological first aid.
The IRC provides vital healthcare and protection to vulnerable Libyans, refugees and migrants who have now experienced more than 10 years of protracted crisis and recurring conflict.
Through our Resettlement Support Centre based in Malaysia and Thailand, the IRC assists thousands of refugees who departed from camps and cities in East Asia to enter the United States and build new lives.
Nearly 1 million Rohingya have fled violence in Myanmar's Rakhine State to Cox’s Bazar, a district in Bangladesh. The IRC is responding with healthcare, protection for vulnerable women and children, and emergency support for the refugees.
David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, is a former Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom. As the son of refugees, he brings a personal commitment to the IRC's work.
